amazing team.As a Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will play
a crucial role in overseeing the development and implementation of
manufacturing processes and tooling essential for our production.
You will be responsible for ensuring that these processes and tools
guarantee product functionality, quality, and cost efficiency. Your
leadership will be instrumental in driving continuous improvement
and innovation within our manufacturing engineering
team.Responsibilities
- Team Development: Coaching, mentoring, and managing talent and
performance. Develop and/or hire to create a world class
manufacturing engineering team that possessing the knowledge,
skills and abilities develop, implement and qualify highly
efficient and capable manufacturing processes for Pivotal aircraft
and all supporting subsystems and non flight systems
- Management and Leadership: Set and achieve goals that stretch
and develop the team while supporting the organization's delivery
of business success. Manage the functional strategy, periodic goals
(output, quality levels, project milestones) and the daily
activities, task allocation while delivering ongoing feedback
- Manufacturing Process Management: Develop and optimize
manufacturing processes to meet capacity, touch labor and cost
objectives. Ensure compliance with industry standards and best
practices whether in development or in continuous improvement
mode
- Engineering & Cross Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with
our engineering, supply chain and quality teams to review,
evaluate, and implement engineering changes with a focus on Design
for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Cost (DFC) principles
- Problem Solving: Use your experience to deliver effective
solutions to manufacturing challenges that may arise during the
industrialization phase of process development
- CAD Expertise: Good knowledge of CAD packages, with a
preference for CATIA/3DX, to support design modifications and
improvements
- Organization and Documentation: Maintain thorough and organized
documentation of processes, changes, and performance
metricsQualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering (mechanical,
manufacturing, aerospace, aeronautical, industrial, or
equivalent)
- Is data-driven and adept at business discussions and skilled
with quantitative tools such as Process Capability modeling and
make / buy decision models. Is able to lead participatory
discussions allowing a group to arrive at best possible
solutions
- 5+ years of experience combined production environments such as
aircraft, automotive, marine, electronics-manufacturing, or related
industries
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in additive manufacturing,
ideally composite structures, including part fabrication,
machining, structural assembly, and required steps such as NDT
- Adept with lean principles and six sigma principles: The ideal
candidate will be proficient in lean, volume ramp up, New Product
Introduction processes, and cost reduction and able to teach these
principles to others. Certifications such as 6sBB or L6sBB are
highly desirable
- Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (e.g. UL,
FAA, FDA)
- Experience in electromechanical product manufacturing that
including digital and/or power electronics, wire/cable harnessing
and electronics enclosures
- Supervisory experience of diverse groups including recent
college graduate engineers, accomplished technicians and expert
engineers specialized fields
- Knowledge of Product Lifecycle principles, New Product
Introduction Best Practices and a working familiarity at least some
of the commercial tools used in its practice
- Proficiency with relevant CAD packages, such as CATIA
(preferred), SolidWorks, or Pro/ENGINEER
- Strong organization and communication skills including
planning, writing, presenting, and speaking / delivering
instruction to groupsApplicants must be eligible for employment in
