Job Summary:Supermicro is seeking an experienced Staff Product
Engineer with strong background in server chassis architecture and
take ownership in its mechanical engineering project development.
The ideal candidate should have in-depth knowledge in the market
trend and partner with Product Manager to define product vision and
strategy for server/chassis products. The candidate will have a
strong technical background in mechanical engineering, extensive
experience in design and development, and a proven ability to
manage complex engineering projects from concept through to
production.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Includes the
following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may
also be assigned):
--- Lead the design, development, and implementation of mechanical
systems, components, and products
--- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the engineering
team, ensuring best practices in mechanical design and
development
--- Oversee the creation of detailed design specifications,
engineering calculations, and analysis to ensure products meet all
performance, safety, and regulatory standards
--- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical
engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure
seamless integration of mechanical
--- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in mechanical
engineering and incorporate new technologies into product
designs
--- Evaluate and select materials, processes, and suppliers to
optimize product performance and cost
--- Work with production line and engineering team to resolve
issues in daily production -- identify root cause and improve
quality
--- Conduct risk assessments and failure mode analyses to ensure
the reliability and durability of productsQualifications:--- BS/MS
in ME, or Engineering equivalent, with minimum of 12+ years of
engineering experience in mechanical design or validation field is
desirable.
--- Solid understanding of usability & DFM methodology is a big
plus
--- In-depth Knowledge of 3D modeling software, such as SolidWorks,
Cero, AutoCAD, etc.
--- Solid experiences in server and mechanical system architecture
and relevant computer peripherals is a must
--- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, able to work in a
self-directed environment
--- Strong communication skill in both verbal and written, able to
communicate effectively in a team environmentSalary Range$162,000 -
$179,000The salary offered will depend on several factors,
including your location, level, education, training, specific
skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees
already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits
package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of
compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award
