.Position SummaryThe Cancer Immunology and Cell Therapy (CICT)- TRC
in Brisbane, California is focused on developing therapeutic
targets at the intersection of tumor, stromal, and immune biology
within the tumor microenvironment. Comprising of scientists across
multiple disciplines we are responsible for the biology,
translational science, and therapeutic modality development
(biologic and small molecule) to support drug development from
target identification trough first in human studies.The CICT-TRC is
highly committed to supporting local STEM initiatives that expose
individuals from all backgrounds to careers in scientific
disciplines through a Summer Internship Program for the summer of
2025. This is a great opportunity to gain exposure to diverse areas
of the drug discovery process and have a hand in bringing novel
therapeutics to cancer patients. We are seeking highly motivated
individuals with at least 2 years of study towards a bachelor's
degree from accredited Colleges and Universities to participate in
a 10-week, full-time paid summer research program. The interns will
have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to programs
within the drug discovery pipeline at BMS.The interns will work
directly with a discovery program lead and a technical advisor to
complete a defined project over the course of the 10 week program.
Students will benefit from the state-of-the art laboratories at our
research site and gain critical knowledge of the core techniques
used for biological assays necessary for target
identification/validation, molecule screening, and functional
analysis of drug candidates in the early and late stage discovery
pipeline. The intern will have the opportunity to participate in
departmental and project team meetings to gain valuable insights
into drug discovery and development process, and interact with
individuals with a range of scientific and pharmaceutical
leadership backgrounds. The internship will conclude with a formal
poster session where the student will have the opportunity present
their findings to the entire site. We highly encourage students

- Gain background knowledge of the assigned project by reading
scientific literature
- Work with program scientists to understand experimental design
and execution
- Learn and perform laboratory techniques required for project
completion
- Meet with scientific advisors on a regular basis to review
progress
- Maintain documentation of experiments in an electronic lab
notebook
- Analyze experimental data and present project findings at the
conclusion of the programQualifications & Experience
- Candidates must be in enrolled in a bachelor's degree program
majoring in Biology (e.g. Immunology, Cell Biology), Chemistry,
Biochemistry, Biological Engineering, or a related discipline
- Must have completed 2 years of study towards a bachelor's
degree by June 2025
- Candidates should have basic laboratory skills (lab course,
academic lab, or industry lab)
- Candidates should have strong communication skills (written and
verbal), and the ability to work in a collaborative environmentThe
starting compensation for this job is a range from $21.00/hour -
$29.00/hour. The starting pay rate takes into account
characteristics of the job, such as required skills and the
geographic location where work is performed. Final individual
compensation is decided commensurate with demonstrated experience
